These things lasted 9,000 miles on my MT-09 and still had grip. Replaced them with Road 6s but only because they were due — Road 5s earned every mile.

Ran Road 5s for two sets on my Ninja 1000SX. Predictable, grippy in the wet, and they wear evenly. MTC had the best price I could find.

Bought Road 5s because they were $30 cheaper than Road 6s. No regrets. Fantastic tire in the twisties and commuting in the morning marine layer.

Frequently Asked
Road 5 vs Road 6 — should I upgrade?

The Road 6 brings two measurable improvements: +15% wet grip and +10% tread life, plus 2CT+ technology on the front tire. If you're riding in wet conditions regularly, the Road 6 is worth it. If Road 5s are in stock at a lower price and you ride primarily in dry or mixed conditions, the Road 5 is still an excellent tire and a smart buy.

What does the load/speed rating mean? (55W, 73W, 75W)

The number is the Load Index — max weight the tire supports at rated pressure. The letter is the Speed Rating. W = up to 168 mph. The SKU detail panel above shows exact lbs and mph for the selected size.
